LipoMask™

Increase the circulation time of lipid particles in blood
LipoMask™ lipids increase the circulation half life of lipid particles in blood, thereby tailoring drug pharmacokinetic profiles, improving drug efficacy and decreasing drug toxicity.
Liposomes are microscopic vesicles that self assemble in water from phospholipids and are capable of encapsulating therapeutic compounds. Liposomes and other particles formulated with LipoMask™ oligoglycerolipids are protected from opsinization and uptake by the mononuclear phagocyte system (MPS). Due to their unique surface properties, nanoparticles formed with LipoMask™ evade the RES (reticuloendothelial system) uptake normally seen with conventional lipids. This technology can be utilized to design pharmaceutical formulations with extended blood circulation time and more desirable efficacy.
Liposomes and other lipid particles containing LipoMask™ achieve this increase in efficacy by:
 | Increased Circulation Time
 | Sustained Release
 | Extended Degradation Time
 | Reduced Toxicity
 | Increased Loading Capacities
 | Tissue Targeting |
We ask that you contact a Genzyme Pharmaceuticals representative today. If your active would benefit from an extended blood circulation time and improved efficacy, LipoMask™ may be an appropriate addition.
